Fabrics and Surfaces

For Pre-Treating Stains on Washable Clothing

1. Apply a few drops of Amodex to the stain

2. Rub in with an old toothbrush or fingernail

3. When stain is approximately 50% lighter, add garment to laundry

4. Launder with regular laundry load

For Spot Removal on Dry Cleanable Garments

1. Apply a few drops of Amodex to the stain

2. Rub in with an old toothbrush or fingernail

3. Continue rubbing stained area until the stain disappears. Be careful not to rub too hard on delicate surfaces.

4. Rinse the fabric
For silk: to avoid water marks, dry fabric with a hairdryer.

Upholstery, Carpets, and Draperies

1. Apply a few drops of Amodex to your stain.

2. Rub in well with your Amodex brush, a toothbrush or a clean cloth.

3. Continue rubbing stained area until the stain disappears. Be careful not to rub too hard on delicate surfaces.

4. Rinse the Amodex. (For small areas, we advise using a spray bottle filled with clean water. For large areas on carpets or upholstery, a cleaning machine filled with clean water works best.)

5. Rinse thoroughly. Air dry or dry with a hairdryer to avoid any watermarks on delicate fabric.
Note: Should the stained area turn yellow after treating with Amodex do not worry. Occasionally it is difficult to completely rinse carpets or upholstery. The yellow is dried Amodex residue. Simply rinse the area again thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry.

Leather (including auto upholstery)

1. Apply Amodex to the stained area.

2. Gently scrape Amodex in to the stain with your fingernail.

3. Continue rubbing until stain disappears.

4. Wipe area clean with a damp rag.
Note: Amodex is a liquid. When applied to leather, the fabric will darken just as it would if it were wet. Don’t worry. Once the area dries, it will return to the normal color.

Heavy Ink Stains

1. Place paper towel under stain.

2. Apply Amodex to the stain.

3. Gently rub with toothbrush or your fingernail.

4. As stain appears on paper towel move the towel to a clean area. (When removing heavy ink stains, continue working the stained area until no more ink appears on the paper towel).

5. Rinse area thoroughly under faucet using warm water. Continue rubbing area while rinsing or launder.

6. Well-set stains including ink marks may require a second application. On second application apply Amodex to wet surface. Allow Amodex to set on the stain for several hours or overnight, then repeat steps 1 through 5.
Very heavy ink spots (for example those caused by leaks) especially those in pockets are difficult to remove. We do not guarantee that Amodex will always remove heavy ink spots. We do know and assure you that it is your best and most effective alternative.

Hands and Skin

1. Apply several drops of Amodex directly on skin or apply to a wash cloth.*

2. Rub stained area well.

3. Rinse with water or wipe off the Amodex with a cloth or towel.

4. For stubborn stains repeat application. Amodex is completely non-toxic.

Note: Never wet stain on your skin before using Amodex.
*When using Amodex with applicator brush, simply rub stained area with brush until all marks are gone and then rinse with warm water.

Surface Cleaning

1. Apply Amodex to the surface.

2. Rub in well with a rag or coat the surface and leave the Amodex on overnight.

3. Wipe clean with a damp rag.

Removing Wax

1. Put a damp rag over the wax and apply a hot iron over the towel

2. Once wax is removed, apply Amodex to the remaining colored area and rub in well.

3. Rinse or launder.

SHARPIE®, EXPO® & OTHER MARKERS

To Remove Markers from Fabric:

1. Apply Amodex to stained area. DO NOT WET AREA.

2. Rub in well with a stiff brush or your fingernail.

3. Continue rubbing until the ink is almost gone.

4. Rinse or launder.

Note: The center area of marker stains will disappear first. keep rubbing until the edges are clean.

To Remove Markers from Walls & Woodwork:

1. Apply a thin coat of Amodex to stained area.

2. Rub in with a DRY Mr. Clean Eraser®.

3. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

To Remove Markers from Plastic, Finished Stone or Other Porous Surfaces:

1. Apply a thin coat of Amodex to stained area.

2. Leave on for several hours or overnight.

3. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

To Remove Markers from Metal, Glass and Other Non-Porous Surfaces:

1. Apply Amodex to a rag.

2. Rub the stained area with the cloth.

3. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

HOW TO REMOVE WHITEBOARD & SMARTBOARD “GHOSTING!”:

1. Apply Amodex to a rag or paper towel.

2. Rub over the whiteboard surface.

3. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Note: Amodex will remove permanent marker that is accidentally used on a whiteboard, smartboard or other such surface. Follow directions for “Other Porous Surfaces”.

Helpful Hints

1. Never wet a stain or apply anything prior to using Amodex: Water may set a stain and make the stair harder to remove. Applying another cleaning agent before using Amodex may reduce its effectiveness. Don’t give up hope. Amodex is still your best bet!

2. Check first for colorfastness: because of the different dyes used on fabrics, especially leather, we advise testing for colorfastness

3. Stubborn Stains: If you apply Amodex to stubborn stains on garments or linens every time you launder them, eventually the stain may lighten or disappear.

4. Berry Stains: When Amodex turns berry stains blue, continue working the stain until it disappears.

5. No Hairspray or Alcohol: Using alcohol or hair spray on an ink stain will only further set the stain.

6. Lacquer and Chemicals: Inks containing chemicals such as lacquer can be a challenge to remove. The lacquer creates a seal that is extremely difficult to penetrate.
